- Exchange old batteries at a retailer that sells car parts
- Contact your local recycling center- some even pay you for old batteries!

Bring batteries to an auto repair garage; many recycle batteries for future use

Driving Tips for Heavy April Showers

You’ve heard it before: April showers bring May flowers. Driving in heavy rain and flooding can be dangerous, so before you take off in that torrential downpour check out some tips on how to safely navigate through heavy rain. If there is a severe weather warning, consider if you’re trip is absolutely essential before leaving. Make sure your windshield and wipers are working well. If you’re caught in a heavy downpour use dipped headlights so other drivers can see you more easily. Do not use rear fog lights, they often mask your brake lights. If you happen to breakdown, stay in the car and call for help. Do not open the hood, the water could cause further electrical problems. If your brakes feel shakey or you start hydroplaning, regain your grip, ease off the accelerator and do not brake until you slow down.
During extreme weather make sure you drive at a slower pace and leave plenty of room between your vehicle and the one ahead. Stay safe on those wet roads and avoid driving in flooded areas at any cost!

The top failed inspections were low washer fluid, dirty motor oil and low coolant. April is the perfect month to get your vehicle back into shape and to prepare it for upcoming spring and summer travel seasons.
